Owner Spotlight: Ed TC Wilson
I’m Ed TC Wilson, the proud owner of PIONEER Window Tint School. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
As a young man in the 70s, I struggled to find my place in the world. It didn’t help that I was of African descent and racial tensions were still prevalent in our society. I realized straight out of college that I wanted to keep my dignity and that as an African American employee, career and growth options were limited to menial, underpaid work. I made the firm decision right then and there to always be my own boss.
My career in window tinting started almost by accident, in my quest for self-sufficiency, I began a door-to-door sales business out of the trunk of my car. One hot mid-summer afternoon, driving around in the blazing Florida sunshine, I saw the need for tinted windows more than any other accessory in my car. In my search for the right tint for my ride, I made the surprising discovery that my town lacked a professional window tint application specialist along with almost no variety in tint material and color options. Seeing an opportunity and seizing it with both hands, I soon had the training and skills required to start my own practice.
With over forty-one years of experience running a successful window tint business, I now see people are much more aware of the benefits of window tinting and realize the added value and visual perfection of having your car or even home windows tinted by a professional. With this new realization, along with my passion for promoting self-employment and non-reliance in my community, I decided to use my talents for the betterment of our community, and added window tinting vocational education to my list of ventures with the establishment of PIONEER Window Tint School.
I find immense satisfaction in completing an exemplary tint application project and find exceeding my client’s expectations in every aspect of my business, shows in my flattering online reviews along with the inspiration and drive I am able to instill in my students. Apart from my obviously unbeatable reputation for excellence in my craft, my motto of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” ensures that my customer service is of the highest quality and my fees are reasonable, just the way I would like it to be. Honesty and integrity are an integral part of my life and I am proud to say that many of my clients over the years have sensed my sincerity and we remain friends, long after the job is done.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the new competition is my commitment to fair business practices, customer-centric service, and dedication to my community. I also take my responsibilities as a mentor and teacher to the local youth in my vocational school very seriously and strive to be the person I know myself to be for them. I attribute my long-standing success to my never-say-die attitude, along with my enterprising personality as both have served me well in life and in my career.
When I am not at work, the pursuit of knowledge is what I find most relaxing. I enjoy researching and studying how as a species we can achieve longevity and improve our quality of life through conscientious living. I also feel strongly that environmental conservation is a matter of critical importance and do what I can to conserve nature on a daily basis.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
